One of my favorite media player “VLC”, now its alpha version is available for Android. It’s most powerful and well-known media player. Almost everyone know well about the VLC media player. It plays every video and audio format and it has powerful features. In fact it’s open source media player, you can stream a video from or any other side, you can capture a photo from any video, even you can cut a clip from every video and audio file.
The player features a stunning user interface and it comes with awesome graphics, it cost you nothing because it’s absolutely free. I used the VLC when its first version released for PC and still I prefer this player than others, however with the passage of time the VLC Inc released its media player for other operating systems even it’s available for every Apple device such as Mac and jailbroken iDevices.
The guys behind cvpcs released the alpha version of VLC player for Android. Specific builds of VLC will work on specific device, two builds are available, one is NEON and second is NONEON. To check the supported device, you can use the ADB to locate a file cpuinfo under /proc, if you see the neon, you should download the neon version otherwise download the second version.
To install the player first download the compatible version for device, you can download the NEON from here and NONEON from here. You can use a file manager app to install the apk file, I’ll recommend you File Expert app that can be download from here, it’s best file manager app for every Android device, once you’ve installed a file manger app, unable on your device go to Settings>Applications and enable Unknown resources, please note that if your device is running Ice Cream Sandwich, you enable from Setting>Security. Then open file manager and locate the VLC apk file and select the file to install it that’s it.
If you’ve installed the VLC media player on your Android device, do let us know about your thought about the player in below comments.
